Wearing Two Hats!

Sometimes is seems like I wear so many (or too many!) hats doing my job as the Director of Tourism in Johnston County.  I just can’t seem to say “no” when someone needs my help or advise on tourism issues and development in the county.  And even more so these days, as our Communications Manager, Doug Fisher, resigned in August to pursue a wonderful opportunity in California.  We miss his incredible talent as a designer and his friendship (he has quite the sense of humor!)

These days I find myself designing the Visitors Guide, billboards and the like and working with town leaders on branding campaigns and way finding (signage) issues.  So for the communications folks and designers in the Triangle, keep a look out for the job posting for a Communications Manager at the Johnston County Visitors Bureau on the county web site, www.johnstonnc.com .  We hope to hire Doug’s replacement in early 2008.

For now, I am taking a week off for what many now call a “homecation”, which means I will stay around home doing the odd jobs around the house that don’t get done working 50-60 hour weeks.   Plus I plan on sleeping late, read some books and go to the movies…I need to rejuvenate and relax.  And enjoy the rain!!!

Wearing many hats is always tough. As in your last post, there is not enough time in the day to get it all done, is there? A “homecation” is well deserved for you and I hope you do get a chance to relax and rejuvenate! You deserve it!! Look forward to hearing all about what rejuvenated and inspired you when you return! :)
